Tropical Twilight
Michaelle Edwards' recording,
"Tropical Twilight", features 11 songs. All but one are newly written, yet reminiscent
of the 30's and 40's era. The selections run the gamut from jazz to blues to Brazillian to Hawaiian,
and feature unforgettable arrangements eloquently written and executed by Peter Sprague - guitar
virtuoso, Tripp Sprague on sax and flute, and Bob Magnusson on bass. The music is beautiful, romantic, inspiring,
and uplifting - just like Kauai!

Michaelle released this album of romance and jazz from Kauai over a year
ago with no promotion or distribution to speak of. It remained a Garden Isle secret until she
"blew out" veteran vocalist Shari Lynn for "Best Recording by a Jazz Vocalist"
at Johnny Lorance's Hawaii Music Awards in April. (Edwards was also named "Best New Age
Vocalist".)
Almost all the songs are originals by Edwards or members of her production
team. "It's Over Mr. Heartache" and "Let's Get Comfortable" define poignant
and playful facets of her repertoire. Producer/arranger Peter Sprague surrounds her enticing
voice with live instruments and minimal synthetics. Call it jazz or call it pop, Michaelle won't
disappoint.
John Berger has covered the local
entertainment scene since 1972.
